lasciate a casa. Queste si aggiungono ai 34 esuberi già precedentemente
annunciati.
“TOCCA A NOI.
oggi restano a casa . Quello che davvero TOCCA A NOI secondo Mtv è LA
DISOCCUPAZIONE.

Milan, July 17th, 2009
(M.T.V. = Sends them all away)
Young people’s favourite TV doesn’t want its own young people anymore! Wiping the slate clean, the channel erases more than 100 precarious jobs with no consequences at all.
Yesterday afternoon Mtv Italia announced that more than 70 people will be axed. These are to be added to 34 redundancies previously announced. This makes more than 100 out of workers left jobless.
MTV’s workers will strike in Milan on Monday, July 20th 2009, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
The demonstrators will meet in Piazza Duomo under the balcony of TRL, the network’s top show, and will march up to Mtv’s head office in Corso Europa 7. For the first time workers decided to protest and not to accept the BLACKMAIL offered by the company during the union negotiations:
- Because it’s a blackmail to force precarious workers to sign a reconciliation letter erasing all their past work spent in the company in order to obtain the umpteenth term contract.
- Because it’s a blackmail to force the signature of a collective reconciliation letter as a necessary requirement to apply the social security cushions. These cushions are financed by the State with no cost at all for the company.
“TOCCA A NOI. LE COSE NON VANNO, CAMBIAMOLE ORA”. (“IT’S OUR TURN. THINGS ARE GOING WRONG. LET’S CHANGE THEM NOW”)
This is the slogan used by Mtv to reach young people and urge them to get involved in social issues, including precarious work. Today this slogan sounds so contradictory and hypocritical to those 103 young workers who have summed up precarious jobs for up to 8 years and who are left jobless today. What TOCCA A NOI (IT’S OUR TURN) really means now according to Mtv is: IT’S OUR TURN TO BE JOBLESS.
We are asking Mtv Italia to apply the social security cushions with no conditions nor blackmail and to re-open negotiations.
